The 1 oz Mountains of Jerusalem Silver Coin is the fifth release in The Holy Land Mint's "Views of Jerusalem" Numismatic Bullion Series. Its distinctive design celebrates the mountains surrounding Jerusalem, combining the unique landscape of the Holy City with centuries of religious, cultural and historical significance.

Unlike many of the world's great cities, Jerusalem is not situated beside a sea, major river or harbour. Instead, the city rises from the mountainous landscape of the Judean Hills. The ascent to Jerusalem therefore represents more than a geographical journey: for generations, it has also carried a profound spiritual meaning.

The design of the Mountains of Jerusalem Silver Coin captures this unique relationship between landscape and history. Created by artist Aharon Shevo, it brings together five of Jerusalem's most significant mountains: Mount Moriah, the Mount of Olives, Mount Herzl, Mount Zion and Mount Scopus.

Mount Moriah, identified with the Temple Mount, is one of Jerusalem's most important religious sites. It was the location of the First and Second Temples, while the Western Wall remains one of Judaism's holiest places. The Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque also make the site highly significant in Islam.

The Mount of Olives has been closely connected with Jerusalem since biblical times and is home to an ancient Jewish cemetery. Important Christian sites, including the Garden of Gethsemane and several churches, are also located here. Mount Herzl serves as Israel's national cemetery and memorial site, while Mount Zion is traditionally associated with the Tomb of King David and the site of the Last Supper. Mount Scopus, one of the highest points in northern Jerusalem, is today home to institutions including the Hebrew University and Hadassah Hospital.

Combining 1 oz of silver with a design inspired by Jerusalem's remarkable landscape, this fifth issue in the "Views of Jerusalem" series offers collectors a distinctive interpretation of the Holy City. Its historic theme and detailed design make it an attractive addition for collectors of international silver coins and releases from The Holy Land Mint.
