The 1 oz Lunar III Goat Gold Coin 2027 from the Australian mint The Perth Mint celebrates the Year of the Goat. Struck from one troy ounce of gold with a fineness of 999.9/1,000, it combines a detailed animal motif with the tradition of the Chinese lunar calendar. In Chinese tradition, people born in the Year of the Goat are associated with gentleness, creativity and compassion.
The reverse features a goat in a rocky mountain landscape with a solitary tree in the background. The Chinese character for goat, the inscription “GOAT 2027” and the “P” mintmark complete the design. The obverse depicts the portrait of King Charles III together with the denomination of 100 Australian dollars.
The gold coin from the Lunar III series is limited to 30,000 pieces worldwide. A micro-engraved letter on the reverse, visible only under magnification, serves as an additional security feature.
