Degussa Goldhandel makes its debut at Frieze London 2025
Frankfurt am Main, 7 October 2025 – The Young Generation Art Award, initiated by Degussa Goldhandel in cooperation with the art magazine Monopol, is entering its second year. Through an open call, artists up to the age of 35 were invited to apply – with great success: around 400 applications were received. The five finalists who have made it onto the shortlist for the Young Generation Art Award 2026 have now been selected.

Frieze London: Degussa Goldhandel celebrates its premiere The shortlist will be officially announced on 15 October 2025 – as part of the opening of Frieze London. As a cooperation partner of the world-renowned art fair, which takes place from 15 to 19 October 2025, Degussa underscores its long-term cultural commitment. On this special occasion, Degussa will also honour the first prize winner of the 2025 award, Thuy Tien Nguyen, with a major exhibition featuring works partly created exclusively for Frieze and presented here for the first time.
The Young Generation Art Award is aimed at emerging artists at the beginning of their careers. Its goal is to support young talent and accompany them on their path into the professional art world. From the five nominated positions, an expert jury selects the winner of the prize. The prize money amounts to €10,000.
In addition, each shortlist nomination is endowed with €3,000. The selected artworks will be presented in a curated exhibition at the Degussa branch Berlin Gendarmenmarkt at the end of this year. The jury once again consists of renowned figures from the art world:
