Knowledge about Silver

As gold’s sister metal, silver combines stability, potential and aesthetics – a precious metal with lasting relevance for your wealth.

Tax-free in a duty-free warehouse

When stored in a duty-free warehouse, VAT on silver is not charged. This means more of your capital remains directly invested, making silver a particularly efficient investment.

An affordable precious metal

Silver shares many of gold’s properties but is significantly more affordable to acquire – making it ideal for strategically diversifying your precious metals portfolio.

More than just gold’s little sister

Beyond its role as an investment, silver stands out as a highly sought-after raw material in technology and industry – offering stable value and strong future potential.

Practical knowledge about silver

What is the difference between fine silver and sterling silver?
Fine silver consists of 99.9% pure silver and is used for investment bars and coins. Sterling silver contains 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper – it is harder and mainly used for jewellery and cutlery.
Wie kann ich Silber sicher lagern?
Silver should be stored in a dry, dark and as airtight environment as possible to prevent tarnishing. For larger quantities, we recommend safe deposit boxes or professional storage – ideally in a duty-free warehouse to benefit from potential VAT advantages.
How liquid is silver as an investment?
Silver is traded worldwide and is a highly liquid investment. Bars and commonly traded coins can be sold at any time in person at current purchase prices in one of our locations.
What is the difference between minted and cast bars?
Minted bars are produced from rolled silver sheets and have a smooth, precise surface – typically in smaller units. Cast bars are poured into moulds and feature slight surface textures, which are characteristic of larger sizes.
Certificates & security features of silver bars
Serial number, manufacturer’s stamp, fineness and weight ensure authenticity. Many bars are delivered in sealed blister packaging, which serves as a certificate. Modern mintings include additional features such as micro-engravings or holograms.
Why silver and not gold?
Silver offers a lower entry price and benefits from additional value potential due to its industrial demand. It is ideal for diversifying a precious metals portfolio and, like gold, is a proven form of wealth preservation.
