The zodiac signs of the Chinese lunar calendar served as the inspiration for the motifs of the Lunar series from the Australian Perth Mint. Despite the annually changing motifs such as tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, pig, mouse and ox, the gold coins are sought after not only by collectors. The moderate issue premium makes them, above all, popular investment coins worldwide. The coin shows a leaping rabbit amid grasses with feathery tufts. The motif includes the Chinese character for "rabbit", the inscription "RABBIT 2023" and the "P" mint mark of the Perth Mint. The obverse shows the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by Jody Clark, as well as the weight, the fineness and the face value of the coin.
