The Royal Mint (Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre) will release a 1-ounce gold coin in 2024 featuring, on the reverse, another animal representative of Spain, in this case, the IMPERIAL EAGLE. The Iberian imperial eagle is a majestic bird of prey endemic to the Iberian Peninsula. Its plumage is dark with white shoulders, and its wingspan can reach 220 cm. It inhabits forests and open areas, where it hunts small mammals. It is an endangered species. The maximum mintage is 12,000 pieces.
