Since 2016, the Australian mint Perth Mint has issued the Australia Kangaroo silver investment coin. The coin, made of 1 oz 999,9 / 1.000 fine silver, is issued as legal tender in accordance with the Australian Currency Act 1965 in unlimited mintage. The coin is subject to an unlimited mintage, but production will be discontinued at the end of 2026. After that, the Perth Mint will announce the official mintage figure. The reverse of the coin shows a leaping kangaroo surrounded by stylised sun rays. On a wavy rim are „AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO", the weight, the fineness and the year of the coin, as well as the „P" mint mark of the Perth Mint.
